On June 21, music is everywhere and available to all. Since 1982, on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, the Fête de la musique (Music Day) has been celebrated on the longest day of the year, the day of the summer solstice. The aim is to celebrate music and its diversity by offering the public free open-air concerts.
Over its forty-year history, the event has crossed national borders to become a truly international celebration. 5 continents, 120 countries, over 1000 cities. Live concerts with professional and amateur musicians are organized.
